Frames - Portuguese Film Festival
Welcome to the 9th edition of Frames - Portuguese Film Festival!
Frames Landscapes 2022.
When people talk about Portugal, they often mention its landscape. But how many landscapes are in a country?
And how has Portuguese cinema depicted its own geographic features over the years?
In this edition, FRAMES proposes a trip to LANDSCAPES, and the enormous diversity of natural, rural or urban scenarios: a river, an ocean, a mountain, a forest, a neighbourhood, a favela. Where there is a permanent state of movement, transformation, renewal. Ultimately, observing landscapes means thinking about time and space, and often translating inner lives.
FRAMES LANDSCAPES is about a sense of belonging (or the lack of it), about vanishing worlds, about the multiplicity of realities inside one same territory and, above all, about (human) nature.
So let’s celebrate the best of Portuguese cinema - together.

About Frames
Frames - Portuguese Film Festival started in 2013 as an initiative from Ung FAPS, the association of young Portuguese people in Stockholm, wishing the festival could become a significant cultural gathering platform for the Portuguese community in Sweden. In 2014 the festival spread to Gothenburg and Vasteras and has gained strength in the three cities ever since.
Frames seeks to promote the most recent, original and creative content within the Portuguese cinematographic panorama, as well as introduce new and talented Portuguese filmmakers to the Swedish public. Cinema, the main focus of the event, is broadened by other cultural expressions, such as literature, debates and music events.
