The time has always been now, curated by Saviya Lopes and Yogesh Barve, mirrors the multifaceted nature of living amidst a democracy. From an archive that captures an interview on democracy to animated narrative exploring individual empowerment/struggle, the videos illuminate a spectrum of human voices, diversity, dialogue and dissent. As the screen becomes a canvas for narratives, the audience is invited to engage with the complexities democracy embodies. Featuring videos by Maithili Bavkar, Irtiza Malik, Anupam Roy, Pinak Banik, Sachin Kondhalkar, Yogesh Barve, Amol K Patil.
Envisioning Emancipation through Witnessing curated by Arijt Bhattacharyya is an evolving, decentralised archive using video screenings, performances, lectures, and storytelling to capture the essence of witnessing. Its core goal is to amplify dissenting voices within contemporary India’s context of rising far-right Hindu ultranationalism. The inaugural video edition features works by Smita Urmila Rajmane, Shaheen Ahmed, Ashfaque EJ, Swagata Bhattacharya, Khandakar Ohida, Soumik Ghosh, Shibayan Halder, Suchandra Kundu, Suvojit Roy.
